A little over two weeks to go...

I have a few pictures to post from our recent visits. The floor is going down and looks awesome.  It is Allure Ultra and is available at Home Depot. We attempted to dig the bush stumps out from in front of the cottage....we got one done before the mud won the battle for the day... we will return and be victorious!!! All this rain is really filling the lake and was almost to the dock walkway. I also posted my Easter card that featured Riley the Moose...my new favorite stamps!

The end is in sight..................

These pictures are from last week 's and this week's quick trips up to the cottage.............I am glad that end is in sight because the money for the project are almost gone.  They will be painting starting tomorrow. I took the flooring up today so it will be going in with the new molding after the painting is completed. The tiling in the bathroom will be started too. Eddie couldn't make the trip and now wants to go up over the weekend to see the progress. My sister Kim and I went to Scrapbooks! in Lima which is closing in another week or two. The first shows the deck and the new siding that we had to put on b/c the old was in bad shape after putting a new back door in and jacking the foundation up almost nine inches to get it level. The next two show the work done to shore up the foundation and put a concrete floor in what was a dirt floor. This area had to be dug out by hand....and in cold rainy weather. The last two show the two ends of the kitchen. We had to put in a new counter top also because of the fixing of the foundation. They are going to be painting the cabinets white too. The cool entertaining cart that Eddie picked out at Pottery Barn will be going between the two outlets in the picture with the ceiling fan.

All Things Cricut

After calling several numbers for people associated with All Things Cricut I got a call back from a Sean Curran. He was very sorry for the problems that I had with my order and is making the situation right. He asked me to post a phone number that other customers who are experiencing problems can reach him at. The number is(801) 319-7178. They started the online store and between the business the got there and on ebay overwhelmed their stock. They are getting a phone line set up that will be posted on the store's site very soon. So if you are having a problem with your order give Sean a call and I hope you can get things worked out.

March 28th Cottage Update

Eddie had the day off and the sun was shining so we decided to head up and see the progress that was made since last week. WOW! A lot of work has been done. The foundation work is finished and the concrete floor in the crawlspace/basement has been poured. The new doors are installed. And drumroll please.........

The deck floor is up. The new back door has also been installed. They were beginning the work mudding and taping of the drywall. cannot wait for it to be finished. We hope it is all done by the time the former owner visits in mid-May. I hope Aunt Louise approves of the changes we have made.

Cottage Update

With Kim in tow we went to Lima to go to the first day of the closing sale for Scrapbooks.....very sad about this store closing. I got a lot of stuff there which included many of the new Tim Holtz stuff for Sizzix. We then stopped at the cottage to see what progress had been made. The new roof is on so they can start working on the drywall which was in the cottage. The water from all the rain did breech the seawall but not by much. The have got the back of the cottage jacked up and have started framing it. They should have the concrete poured in the lower part by the time we go up this week. The bottom picture is the only closet we have and is being bumped out by 6 inches.

ALL THINGS CRICUT

DO NOT BUY FROM ALL THINGS CRICUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After receiving an email from a new company and I thought I would give them a try. I used a shop safe credit card number and because I needed the items by this weekend I paid the extra $2 for priority shipping. They failed on several things. They did not ship in one day. I got shipping notification at the end of the day Tuesday. I thought it was strange that it did not contain a tracking number. I contacted them Thusday when the  package did not arrive. I got a response from "Steve M." stating that they were having trouble getting the tracking numbers but their system was showing that it had shipped and I should receive it later this week. When I didn't get it on Friday I sent another email...no response from them. I also sent a message through their site and did not get a response from them. Now it is Saturday and still no package. I sent another email to them. If I do not hear from them first thing Monday morning I will be filing a claim with my credit card company and contacting the Orem. Utah police department. I spoke with my mail carrier about the package. He stated that There had been no packages for our house this week. I checked the email that was sent when I placed my order and it has my correct address.

Lake Update

We met the contractor today at the cottage ( Eddie has another name for it). Progress is being made in a big way. They have ripped the back porch and steps off and have started repairing the foundation. I guess who ever built the proch and steps meant it to be there for eternity.... rebar was placed every six inches and a jackhammer was needed to remove the porch and steps. Two trees that look bad were pointed out and may need to come down sooner than later.THEY ARE HUGE TREES! On the good side we won't have to buy firewood for a very...very... long time once they are cut down. They walls are down and new wiring, insulation and pocket doors will be going in soon. the floors in the bedrooms are hardwood and can be refinished. The found water in the the livingroom and will be letting us know if the roof is going to need to be replaced. The floor in the livingroom has tile over the wood floors and they are not sure if the tile can be taken off without damaging the floors.

I LOVE Diamond Cellar!!!!

We have been shopping at Diamond Cellar since we got my engngement ring and our wedding bands. Then went back when Eddie redesigned my engagement and wedding ring into one ring which I had been wanting done for quite some time. They sent an email out a few weeks ago that showed some new products I had to see.....so today we stopped by after lunch. I wanted the ring for sure and Eddie insisted on the bracelet too. They are so comfortable and not all that expensive.

Some Layouts

So I uploaded some pictures to my new laptop and saw a couple of LOs that I did. One is from some pictures from cross country my junior year in high school which would be fall of 1980.The other is a LO of Eddie from our trip to Maui. He bought a sun visor that had a piece of fake hair sewn in it so it looked like a "surfer dude". He had to have the hat........

Imagine

So last summer I was involved in a focus group for Provo Craft for a new product coming out later in the year and that product is the Cricut Imagine. Eddie kept nudging me to get it once it came out. I finally found it for a good price right before Christmas and bought one. I finally took the time to set it up ...calibrate it and make some initial cuts. I will post more later but here are two pics of simple things it can do. One is just printing and cutting ( Beautiful). The second is five layers printed, cut and then assembled ( Good Times). Both of these are from the cartridge that came with the Imagine.

Betty's Bungalow at Camp Edwards

Some of my friends have not seen pictures of the cottage. It is at Indian Lake which is about an hour west of Columbus. I spent a lot of time there as a kid. The cottage is currently going through some updating.

We have a contractor doing some updates on it over the winter and hope he will be done by our 14th wedding anniversary on April 18th. I will try to post some pictures in future posts.

I thought I would post picutres of the Christmas cards I made for Christmas 2010.
